Emblem

BRENDAN J. KIRBY age 58, beloved father of Ryan, Bridget and Kathryn "Katie"; cherished son of the late William and Elaine (nee Henderson); dearest brother of Suzanne Duffy (husband Joseph), Nancy Murray (husband James), William (wife Martha), Kathleen, Maureen Becker (husband Brian), Kevin (wife Jennifer), Gregory (wife Emily) and Mary Ann Krusinski (husband Mark); treasured nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Brendan was born February 18, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio. The youngest of nine siblings, Brendan carried the burden of being the "youngest" with pride and good-natured kidding. His departure allows him to finally be the "first" at something, which he is likely gloating about right now.

After graduating from West Geauga High School in 1984, he finished his formal education at Kent State. Brendan's professional career centered around account support for several healthcare organizations, as well as executive technical recruitment. He was diligent and held himself to a high standard in serving others.

With his never-ending energy and devotion to his faith, he coached CYO basketball and volunteered at multiple church events, such as the St. Clare Festival.

As a huge sports enthusiast, Brendan worked out diligently, participated in triathlons, golfed and loved to water ski. To relax afterwards, he would socialize and laugh with friends, with Jimmy Buffet music possibly playing in the background.

Brendan was a lifelong and faithfully optimistic Cleveland sports fan. Through every season and schedule, he lived the pain and joy that only a Northeast Ohio native could appreciate.

His extended family grieves his departure from their lives as he was so active in family events. Birthdays, weddings, graduations, and celebrations filled every year. Summer gatherings in Sandusky, trips to visit family in different cities, and annual New Year's Eve activities were special moments for laughter and togetherness.

His pride and joy were his children, Ryan, Bridget, and Katie. He was so proud of the adults they have become and their futures. It will, undoubtedly, be his family support example that he leaves as a legacy to his children in guiding them every day of the rest of their lives.
