Blaine Jones

BLAINE W. JONES age 81 of Willoughby Hills, passed away December 3, 2013 at University Hospital. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Bernice (nee Sumey); loving father of Randal (wife Janet) and Bonnie Pollizi (husband David); devoted grandfather of Victoria, Jacqueline and Brian; cherished son of the late William and Elizabeth (nee Show); dearest brother of Paul.

Born August 29th, 1932 in Uniontown, PA. Blaine joined the US Navy in 1950 and serve in the Korean War. In 1953 he married his wife of 60 years and together they moved to Cleveland that same year. Blaine was a graduate of Griswold Institute and worked at Picker X-Ray for 41 years as an electronic inspector and retired in 1994.

Blaine was passionate about sports, working as an umpire for Eastern Cuyahoga County Umpire Association for 35 years. Blaine was a member of the Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4358. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #7.

Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors will take place Friday, December 6, 2013 at 7 PM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91). Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Private inurnment at Knollwood Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Blaine at the FUNERAL HOME FRIDAY 4-7 PM.
