Betty Witkowski

BETTY J. WITKOWSKI (nee Centa), age 94, beloved wife of the late Stanley; loving mother of John (wife Marilyn), David (wife Roberta), and Stanley (wife Barbara); devoted grandmother of 9, great-grandmother of 10 (soon to be 11), step-grandmother of 3, and step-great-grandmother of 3; dearest sister of Helen Elkanich (husband John) and preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters; loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Betty was born on October 27, 1922 in Cleveland and passed away on November 25, 2016. She was a resident on Mayfield Heights since 1992, formerly of Cleveland. Betty was a parishioner of St. Noel Catholic Church since 1992, previously of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Cleveland. She graduated from Collinwood High School. Betty loved to crochet and made over 70 afghans. She was a great cook, baker and seamstress. Betty was the ultimate homemaker. She will be remembered as a kind, loving, giving, helpful, and sociable woman who had a keen sense of wit. Betty adored her family and will be greatly missed.

Contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Cleveland Clinic Hospice, 6801 Brecksville Rd., Independence, OH 44131. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at St. Noel Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial following at St. Mary Cemetery (E. 71^st St.). Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Betty at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 3-5 and 6-8 PM.
