BETTY MARIE MONROE (nee Pugel), age 91; beloved wife of the late Michael; loving mother of Monica Gaffney (husband Kevin deceased), Michelle Stark (husband Richard), and Michael (wife Brenda); devoted grandmother of Cortni Russell (husband Kevin), Cyle and Kelsey Gaffney, Lindsey and Richard Stark, and Michael (wife Katie), Mason, and Tyler (wife Trisha) Monroe, and great-grandmother of Scarlett and Keegan; cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Boldin) Pugel; dearest sister of the late James Pugel.
Betty grew up in Collinwood and attended and graduated from Collinwood High School in 1948. She lived in Mentor for the last twenty years. She was an active member of the St. Gabriel Parish. She enjoyed visiting many of the local senior centers and taking trips. She worked at the West End YMCA in Willoughby, welcoming people at the front desk.
Betty enjoyed cross-stitch, gardening and exercise. Her favorite music was polka. Betty was sweet and loving. She was outgoing and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was devoted to her family and is remembered as being thoughtful, caring and friendly.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Betty at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD, TUESDAY JANUARY 5, 2021 from 9-10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, at 11 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Mentor. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Garden Cemetery.
