BETTY EILEEN BOYLAN (nee Marsteller) age 94, passed away Sunday February 21, 2016, with her family at her side. Beloved wife for 58 years of the late Ralph; loving mother of Cheryl Ucchino (husband Michael, deceased) and Gail DeWolf (husband Bill); devoted grandmother of Dave DeWolf (wife Hilarie), Dawn Thatcher (husband Brian) and great-grandmother of Hannah, Ryan, Emma, Savannah, Mackenzie and Madison (deceased); cherished daughter of the late John Wesley and Nellie Agnes (nee Small) Marsteller; dearest sister of the late Margaret “Peg” Johnson (husband Ken Humphrey, deceased and Bob Johnson, deceased) and Jack Marsteller (wife Virginia “Ginny”); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Betty was born in Sheakleyville, PA and raised in Clarks Mills, PA. Following graduation from Hadley High School in 1939 with a class of 12, she began a career at the Westinghouse in Sharon, PA. She married Ralph Boylan in 1945 and traveled to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to work as a civilian in the Navy yards to support the war effort. After moving to Cleveland and later to Mayfield Hts, OH she became a school cook, retiring from Mayfield City Schools in 1987 after 20 years. Betty enjoyed gardening, bird watching, camping, cooking and baking, especially cinnamon rolls and pies. She was a Indians fan and a seamstress. Above all Betty’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a caring, devoted and faithful person. She will be greatly missed.

Celebration of Life Service Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 5:00 PM at Mayfield Church 7747 Mayfield Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026. Private burial will take place at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Hts. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Betty at THE CHURCH TUESDAY 4-5 PM. Arrangements by DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
