Bernard J. “Bernie” Overberger

“BERNARD J.”BERNIE” OVERBERGER, age 78. Beloved husband for 43 years of the late Veronica J. “Ronnie” (nee Hidock). Loving father of Susan Chanda (husband Robert), Joyce Hanzel (husband Michael), and Bernard John (wife Cynthia). Devoted grandfather of Brian, Michael, Kaleigh and Jordan. Cherished son of the late Herman and Genevieve (nee Wilson). Dear brother of the late Charlotte McQueeny (husband Robert, deceased). Dear brother-in-law, uncle and cousin of many.

U.S. Army Veteran. Bernie worked the festivals at church and other fund raising events. He also was involved in the Cub Scouts. He loved carpentry, working on cars and was a handyman and jack of all trades. Bernie was a quiet and reserved man who had a good sense of humor. He was loving, caring, patient and kind and was a perfectionist in all the things he touched.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, March 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:30 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery.
