BERNARD D. “BENNY” “GIGI” GIANNETTI age 90, beloved husband for 69 years of Theresa (nee Antonacci); loving father of Raymond (wife Nanci), Bernard (wife Cindy) and Holly Thoreson (husband David); devoted grandfather of Jason (wife Marissa), Jessica Salinas (husband Brandon), Ami Stinziano (fiancé Melanie Hofer), Amber Mann (husband Daniel), Bernie (wife Lily), Brittney Thoreson and Taylor Dmitriev (husband Devin); cherished son of the late Bernard and Mary (nee Rossi); dearest brother of Rose Danko, Carmella Iacianci (husband Victor deceased), and the late Frank Jiannetti (wife Mary deceased), Stella Hazen (husband William deceased) and Connie Klinko (husband Ray deceased); treasured brother-in-law of Anna Marie and the late Leo Paratore, and Eleanor and James Dodge; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. U.S. Army Veteran - Korean Conflict.
Bernard was born on July 3, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio. After serving in the US Army during the Korean conflict, he returned home to become a carpenter and a loyal member of the Carpenter Union, Local 373. As a man of faith, he was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Bernard had many hobbies, which included woodworking and listening to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Traveling to Florida and golfing brought him true enjoyment. He was social, hardworking, and always joking with a wonderful sense of humor. Above all, he was highly devoted to his family and faith. Bernard passed away on January 28, 2024 and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 2, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, 37932 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio at 10AM. Entombment following with Military Honors at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bernard at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 3-8 PM.
