BEATRICE GUND, aged 93 years, beloved daughter of the late Joseph G. II and Adaline B. (nee Simak) Gund, cherished sister of the late Bernita Quinn-Wiegand (husband Michael Gerard Quinn, deceased) (husband Clifford Wiegand, deceased) and Rita T. Gund; devoted aunt to Bernita Kavulich (husband James), Beth Opalich (husband Bill), Maureen Rawley (husband Michael), Eileen Sraj (husband Michael, deceased) and Barbara Buzonas (husband Benjamin, deceased), treasured grand-aunt of 15 and great-great-aunt of 14; dear cousin of the late Lawrence Simak (wife Rosemary)
Beatrice was born on March 28, 1931, in Cleveland Heights, and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1949. She was employed as a legal secretary at an established law firm and took great pride in her work. She was a talented pianist and particularly enjoyed the opera and classical genres of music. A dedicated coin collector, Beatrice amassed a great number of coins to add to her expansive collection throughout her lifetime. She also had a passion for traveling the world, and got to visit across the United States, Europe, South America, and Central America. She was best described as an independent woman who was very set in her ways, but was always friendly to her colleagues, friends, and family. Most of all, she was deeply devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. Beatrice peacefully went home to the arms of God on February 2, 2025. She left a profound impact on the lives of everyone she met and will be dearly missed.
