BARBARA J. KAPRALY (nee Kirkner) age 85, beloved wife for 59 years of Donald; loving mother of Edward (wife Pamela), Joan Sablar (husband Steve), and Jim; devoted grandmother of Michael (wife Rachel), Jessica Minor (husband John), Eric Sablar, Kevin Sablar, Olivia Barbara Jean Sablar and great-grandmother of Barrett Plesko-Sablar; cherished daughter of the late Edward Charles and Anne (nee Flannery) Kirkner; dearest sister of Margaret Heintzelman (husband Bill, deceased), and the late Elizabeth Haustovich (husband Paul, deceased), Mary Jane Shaw, Patrick Kirkner (wife Joanne, deceased); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Barbara was born on February 15, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio and passed away on September 20, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She lived most of her life in Warren where she and Donald raised their family and then moved to Chardon with her husband to live with her daughter and their family. Barbara graduated from High School in Youngstown and proudly worked as a secretary at Howland High School for 18 years. She greatly enjoyed camping at Pymatuning Lake, going out to eat, playing computer games, and reading books. Barbara loved spending time with her family, her annual Christmas parties with her sisters, the annual trip to Lancaster, PA with Donald, and his brother Mike and sister-in-law Bonnie. She was determined, organized, and devoted to her family. Barbara was a softy that spoiled her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 401 N. Street, Chardon, OH, 44024 at 11:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Barbara at THE CHURCH 10:30-11:30 AM. Arrangements by DeJOHN Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square).
