Barbara A. Harsch

BARBARA A. HARSCH (nee Knack) age 69, loving mother of Kelley Neal (husband Ryan), Elizabeth (Daniel Zaniewski) and Thomas A. (Ashlie Clair); devoted grandmother of Laney, Julian and Evalynn; cherished daughter of the late Mildred Knack (nee Koehnen); dearest sister of the late Thomas Knack; dear aunt of K.C. Knack and many other wonderful nieces & nephews; former wife of the late Thomas J. Harsch (wife Randie Lyn); dear sister-in-law of many.

Barbara Harsch was born in Saint Paul, MN on September 18, 1950 and passed away November 26, 2019 in Cleveland, OH after battling metastatic lung cancer. She lived in Novelty for the past 10 years and prior to that in Solon and Mayfield Heights. Barbara belonged to Word of Grace Church in Chesterland. She graduated from Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, OK in 1968, but lived all over the U.S. traveling because of her mother’s job in the fashion industry. Barbara worked in accounting and retired from Ullman Oil Company previously serving as office manager at Banbury Apartments. Barbara enjoyed cooking, traveling and loved watching the food network.  Barb was very crafty, enjoyed making wreaths, sewing and tending to her garden. She enjoyed listening to Christian and Country music. Barbara found the most joy in her grandkids, cooking for family & friends and spending quality time with her loved ones.  Her favorite holiday was the 4^th of July, Thanksgiving and going overboard with Christmas stocking stuffers! Barbara will be remembered for her big heart and her kind, loving & forgiving nature. She never said an unkind word and talked to everyone, providing every detail of the story, whether you wanted the information or not! There will never be anyone that could measure up to her caliber, as a mother, grandmother, chef extraordinaire or person.  One-of-a-kind simply cannot describe HER.  She will be missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers, contributions suggested to the Barbara Harsch Memorial Fund.  Celebration of Life Service Monday,  December 2, 2019 at 7 PM at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) where family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Barbara 3 PM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.   Friends & family will meet for food & cocktails at Gino’s Italian Grill & Bar (8389 Mayfield Road, Chesterland) immediately following the service.
