August C. “Augie” Becker

AUGUST C. “AUGIE” BECKER, of Garrettsville, passed away August 9, 2013 surrounded by his loving family and friends. August was born September 28, 1949 in Charleston, WV to the late David A. Becker and the former Wilma Slider.

August was an electrical technician for the past 30 years for the General Electric Company in Ravenna, OH. He also worked at Novellis, Unity Rubber, and owned and operated A&B Auto Body. August also proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in Vietnam.

August was a mural artist, painting the first mural in Ohio. His hobbies included computers and cars, gardening, fishing and shooting firearms.

August is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years Freda P. (nee Cooper); sons Robert L. Fisher, Gary E. (Roxanne) Fisher, Harry Fisher, David (Ryan) Becker; daughter Janie (Chris) DiCapo; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Robby Becker; and sisters Paige Thomas, Carol Becker, Davie (Bill) Miller. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Edward Thomas.

August will be remembered for his devotion and love of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
