Arthur W. Nevar

ARTHUR W. NEVAR age 90, beloved husband for 65 years of the late Carole J. (nee Sandstrom); loving father of Lynda S. Kistler (husband John C.), Robert D. (wife Susan L.), Kenneth W., and Rod A. (wife Kate); devoted grandfather of Scott Kistler (wife Jamie), Karen Moravek (husband Wade), Brett Kistler, Brent, Katie, Tyler, Michael, Raquel, Eve and Sean Nevar and great-grandfather of Avrill, Ava, Xander, and Bennett; cherished son of the late William and Catherine (nee Warnock); dearest brother of Fred, Sr (wife Patricia); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. WW II US Army-Air Corp Veteran.

Art was born on August 25, 1927 in Cleveland and passed away on October 4, 2017.  He lived in Concord for 11 years and also Saybrook, Naples, Chesterland and Euclid.  A member of the Euclid Veterans Club, TRW-Top Notchers and a proud WWII U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran.  Graduated from Euclid Shore H.S. in 1945 and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg University.  He worked as an HR benefit manager for TRW for 40 Years.

Above all else, Art was a dedicated family man and an adoring husband.  Always a servant to those he loved, he would go out of his way for anyone.  His passion for golf, travel and Cleveland Sports Teams has been passed on to his 18 children, grand-children and great-grand-children.  So much love shared – he will be sorely missed!

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Art at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.). Hours of Visitation, FRIDAY 3-7 PM and Service from 7-8.  Burial on Saturday at 11 at  Western Reserve Cemetery.
