ARLENE JEAN BURGER (nee Jacobs) age 86, beloved wife of the late Benedict for 56 years; loving mother of Kim and Steve (Karin); devoted grandmother of Alex Elchesen, Adam Elchesen, Eric (Shelby) Elchesen, Amber Burger, Mitch McCready, Shane Burger, Cody Burger, Justin Burger, and Ethan Burger and great-grandmother of Cole Elchesen; cherished daughter of the late Edmund and Victoria (nee Iwanski) Jacobs; dearest sister of Gary (Linda, deceased) Jacobs.
Arlene was born on August 22, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Collinwood High School. Over the years, Cleveland and Willoughby Hills were home, however she and Ben loved escaping to their Cottage in West Farmington. There they would visit different flea markets and Arlene would purchase many treasures to add to her collections. She found true solace in those trips, spending time with her dogs, as well as the time spent lost in a vigorous mystery novel. Arlene was genuinely happy and outgoing. Her nurturing and selfless ways made it so easy to love her and be loved by her. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren endlessly. On August 15, 2024, Arlene passed away in the presence of love.
Arrangements and cremation entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
