ANTON J. “TONY” ISKRA age 91, beloved husband for 65 years of Theresa (nee Debevec); loving father of Anton “Tony” Iskra, Susan (Charlie) Martin, Donna (Gary) Nelson, Annette Iskra and David (Betsy) Iskra; devoted grandfather of Theresa Martin, Matthew, Brent, Anna (fiancé Jon Schriner), Amy and Daniel Nelson, Perine Wilbert, Rachael and Patrick Iskra; cherished son of the late Anton and Regina (nee Bostjancic) Iskra; dearest brother of Jenny (Victor, deceased) Raspet and the late Frank (Laura) Iskra; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Tony passed away peacefully at his Willoughby Hills home with his family surrounding him on April 24, 2016. He was born April 14, 1925 in James City, PA. Tony served in WWII in the U.S. Navy from December 1943 to May 1946 as a Sonarman operating sonar and radar equipment on the USS Recruit in the Pacific Campaign. After his discharge, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from American Television Institute of Technology in Chicago in 1949. He worked with Emersion Radio until 1958, Tony opened his own TV and Radio repair shop called Sound Specialists on 185th Street which he ran for well over 20 years, he worked at AM Corp. in Euclid from 1966 to 1978. He worked at General Electric prior to retiring in 1989. Tony was an active member with the Knights of Columbus and the Willoughby Hills VFW 4358, serving as Quartermaster and other positions. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, golf and bowling. Faith, Family and Friends were always important to Tony.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony’s memory to Parkinson Education Program Of Greater Cleveland 17930 Birch Hill Dr., Chagrin Falls, OH 44023-5824.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, April 29, 2016 at St. Noel Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tony at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
