ANTOINETTE M. MINNIS (nee DeMarco), age 90; beloved wife of the late Joseph “Nebo”; loving mother of Janet DiCillo (husband Dave) and Gail Mechling (husband Kurt) of Seneca, SC; devoted grandmother of Christy (Ross) DeJohn, David (Julie) DiCillo, Matthew (Kristy) DiCillo, Gillian and Michael Mechling, and great-grandmother (Grandma Toni) of Lola, Jake, Stella, Georgia and Cate; cherished daughter of the late Mary (nee Pietro) and Dominic DeMarco; dear sister of Loretta Pasquale and the late Frances Gargiulo; dearest aunt, great-aunt and cousin of many.
Antoinette was a former member of the Whitcomb Belles. She loved classical music, playing the piano and in her later years Sunday “movie nights” with her daughter, Janet. More than anything, she enjoyed cooking for her family. Christmas Eve and Easter traditions were important to her and many will remember Antoinette making her father’s famous pasta sauce, ravioli and lobster tail…traditions that continue on into the fourth generation. She was a “second mother” and friend to many of her daughter’s friends who were always welcomed to her home. She was so proud of her family and her continuing on her father’s legacy. For many years, Antoinette and her late husband owned and operated DeMarco’s Restaurant. Her family will fondly remember her for her quick-wit, timeless generosity and beautiful sense of hospitality.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial following in Lake View Cemetery.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Antoinette at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
