ANTHONY A. “TONY” RUGGERI, age 91, beloved husband for 63 years of Rita (nee Hovanec); loving father of Cynthia Previte (husband John), Michael (wife Glynn Ann), Mary Jo Medwetz (husband Joe), and Richard (wife Pamela); devoted grandfather of Brendan (Lauren), Jordan and Alexander Previte, David and Natalie Ruggeri, Nicholas and Abigail Medwetz, Katie Fulmer (Matt), Clay Pickering (Erin), Andrew and Allyson Ruggeri, and great-grandfather of Hudson Anthony, Caleb, Noah and Peyton; cherished son of the late Dominic and Catherine (nee Markette) Ruggeri; dearest brother of the late Frank Ruggeri and Ann Deliso; dear uncle and great uncle of many.
Tony was born on December 10, 1923 in Dayton, Pennsylvania and passed away on October 18, 2015. He was a resident of Lyndhurst for 59 years, formerly of East Cleveland. Tony was a faithful parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church where he was an usher and counted money. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, member of ISDA #192 University Lodge, Knights of Columbus Gilmour Council #310 and Little Italy Retirees. Tony graduated from East High School and worked as a Production Control Supervisor with TRW and Van Dorn Plastic Molding. He enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Tony loved golfing, bowling, bocce and gardening. He liked to make wine and sausage. Tony loved to watch his favorite sports teams, the Yankees, Browns and Cavs. He will be remembered most as a soft spoken man with a sweet and gentle soul. Tony’s grandkids gave him the most enjoyment in his life. He was a great story teller, very faithful and selfless man who will be missed dearly.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial following with military honors at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tony at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) WEDNESDAY 2-4 and 5-8 PM.
