ANTHONY P. COMPOLA age 85, beloved husband of the late Constance Marie “Connie” (nee Sabetta); loving father of Cynthia Ann Schwarz (husband Robert), Renee Marie Laurello (husband Michael), Tonimarie Angela Jares (husband Scott), and Crystal Fulton; devoted grandfather of Stefanie, Robert (wife Jennifer) and Krista Schwartz, Michael and Angela Laurello, Nicole and Nicholas Jares, Riley and Ethan Fulton, great-grandfather of Joey, Alex and Maggie; cherished son of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Lombardo); dearest brother of Josephine Mastrangelo (husband James, deceased), Jackie Wytovich (husband Joe) and Sandra Hughes (husband Kenneth); brother-in-law of Marilyn Judge (husband Gerald) and the late Louis Sabetta (wife Joanne); dear uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many. Second father to Connie, Stephen, and Anthony.
Tony was born May 19, 1935 and died peacefully on January 1, 2021. Anthony attended East Tech and Cathedral Latin High Schools. He continued his education at John Carroll University. He went on to be a successful business owner, operating Antonio’s Restaurant and Lounge, Tasty Pizza and Mama Ray’s Pizza. His faith and family served as his foundation. He was a devout Catholic. Tony was an active member of the St. Columbkille Parish, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and belonging to several prayer groups. In addition to being an accomplished restaurant owner, Tony was a certified gun dealer. He enjoyed golf, baseball, boating and bowling. He loved to sing and was an accomplished entertainer. His favorite performers included Mario Lanza, Tom Jones, Luciano Pavarotti, and Neil Diamond. Tony is remembered as a proud man with a strong will. He was hard-working, loyal, and intelligent. His children remember him as both strict, fair and loving. He will be missed by all.
