With World War II looming on the horizon, Anne and her family came from Czechoslovakia to the United States in 1939 when she was 19 years old. She retired from General Electric after 40 years of service. Anne worked in the model shop at Nela Park. She manually assembled new lamp design prototypes before they became GE products.
Until recent years, Anne was active at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Highland Heights. She enjoyed singing in the choir. In recent years, her attention turned to her home and all of the projects needed to keep it in good shape and up to date. During the summer months, she could be seen daily watering her flower beds and enjoying her front porch.
