Anna M. Vesel (nee Rauter), 84, entered into eternal rest May 19, 2017 at Grande Pointe Nursing Home after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Berg, Austria on October 11, 1932. She immigrated to the United States in 1949. Anna lived in Cleveland and was a member of St. Vitus Church before moving to Mayfield Heights 15 years ago.
Anna was employed at a cleaning company that serviced the Williamson Building in downtown Cleveland for many years. After moving to the Euclid Beach Area, Anna worked as a food preparer for Fannies Restaurant on E. 156th Street near the Grovewood area. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Christ the King Lodge #226. Anna enjoyed crocheting, knitting and made fabulous blankets and baby booties. Her family will remember her as a beautiful and giving mother that was very hard working and active.
Survivors include her children, Frank J. (wife Cindy) of Philadelphia, Mary Ann Braasch of Chicago, John (wife Nancy); grandchildren Michael Vesel, Sean Braasch, and Stephen Braasch; brothers Emmerich (wife Kathe) Rauter and Franz (wife Inge) Rauter; and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Frank who died in 1984; daughter Ida; granddaughter Grace Vesel; and parents Emmerich and Marie (nee Langner) Rauter.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday May 23, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10 am. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Anna at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 3-5 and 6-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Anna to the Hospice of the Western Reserve 17876 St. Clair Ave. Cleveland, OH 44110.
