Ann Kosir (nee Martincic) age 89, beloved wife of the late Anthony; loving mother of Anthony (wife Jill), Thomas, John (wife Susan) and Mark (wife Halle); devoted grandmother of Matthew, Nicholas, Gianna, and Anthony; cherished daughter of the late Joze and Maria (nee Debevec) Martincic; dearest sister of Joze and the late Ivanka, Louis, Tony and Reska.
Ann passed away peacefully on March 8 at the residence of her son, Thomas. Ann was born on July 9, 1931 in Cerknica Slovenia. She came to the United States as a young woman. One of her proudest moments was becoming a citizen of the United States.
She lived in Euclid for the past fifty years after being in Collinwood.
Ann was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Collinwood. A daily participant in the Mass, she sang in the choir. She was an active volunteer and could often be found in the kitchen preparing for events and dinners. She was a member of the Ladies Guild Society, Alter Society, Pristava and the Pensioner’s Club. Her faith and the church were a very important part of her life.
She was dedicated to her family and was a homemaker until Anthony’s death. Later in life she learned to drive so she could go to work. She held positions at restaurants and Bailey Controls. She always found a way to make a positive impact wherever she was.
She enjoyed garage sales, thrift stores and looking for a bargain. She always loved spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and she also found great joy in singing. She belonged to the singing group Glasbena Matica and St. Mary’s Choir.
Ann was a selfless woman, she always thought about other people first. She met everyone with a smile and could make friends with anyone. You could never find anyone who would have a bad word to say about Ann. Her smile, humor, and love will be missed by many.
