ANN J. FECKO (nee Yurkovich), died July 30, 2014, two days before her 101st birthday; beloved wife of the late Andrew; loving mother of Shirley Bizjak (husband Peter) and Judy DiPaola (husband Sam); devoted grandmother of Lisa and Michele Bizjak, Sam DiPaola III (wife Debra), Angela Denton (husband Wade) and great-grandmother of Victoria, Thomas Wade, III, Kaylin, Ella and Eli; cherished daughter of the late Anton and Mary (nee Kvaternic) Yurkovich; dearest sister of the late Mary Stanek (husband John, deceased) and Edward Yurkovich; dear aunt of James Stanek and many other nieces and nephews.
Ann was a founding member of St Helen Catholic Church in Newbury in 1949. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and the Isabella Guild #3304. Ann was lifetime member of the Croatian Pioneer Lodge and board member of the Geauga County on Aging. She also worked at the voting polls in Burton and Newbury. Ann from 1946 – 1966 was owner and manager of The Moonglow Tavern in Newbury. Ann loved to golf and was a member of Pleasant Hills Golf Club. She played fast pitch soft ball and in 1933 was in the Olympic Trials. Ann was quiet, conservative, generous and good with numbers.
Contributions be made in Ann’s memory to St. Helen’s Building Fund. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Monday, August 4, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church 12060 Kinsman Rd Newbury. Burial following in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ann at THE DEJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro) 126 SOUTH ST. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) SUNDAY 4-8 PM.
