ANGELO J. “RUSS” COLUMBO age 91; beloved companion for 44 years of Carol Yost; cherished son of the late George and Maria (nee Canvata); dearest brother of Fred, Joseph, Margaret Papesh and the late Sophie Campopiano, John, Frank and George; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
Russ was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a resident of Euclid for 35 years after moving from Mentor. A graduate of East High School, he worked as an assembler at Addressograph Multigraph. In his free time, he enjoyed snow skiing, playing the lottery, listening to polka and big band music (particularly Frank Sinatra and Dino Martin). He loved dancing and going to Las Vegas. Many will remember Russ as a good man who was set in his ways, loved children and was very independent.
Contributions may be made in memory of Russ to the American Cancer Society.
Prayers of Christian Burial will be Friday October 25, 2013 at 10:45 AM (NOTE TIME CHANGE) at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91). Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Russ at the FUNERAL HOME THURSDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
