Andrew Finamore

ANDREW FINAMORE, age 63, died peacefully after battling cancer for several years; retired co-owner of Finamore’s Restaurant in Richmond Heights; devoted son of the late Antonietta (nee Vespa) and Andrea; beloved brother of Vincenza Caniglia (husband Gregory), Angelo (wife Rosie), and Julie Liptak (husband Dan), loving uncle of Gregory Caniglia (wife Kelly), Tricia Carlos (husband Anthony), Maria Finamore (Matt Kelly), Daniella Kosareo (husband Nick) and Kelly Ratino (husband David), cherished great-uncle of Colin, Chloe, Sara, Casey, Quinn, Daniel, Alex, Amelia, Adeline, and Cullin.

Andy lived the last two years in Lakewood, previously residing in Willoughby Hills for more than 35 years. He was a long-time parishioner at St. Paschal Baylon Church where he served his community at Eucharistic Adoration. Andy graduated from Brush High School in 1978, then continued on to Cuyahoga Community College where he earned his associate degree in hospitality management. Many will remember Andy from his many years as co-owner of Finamore’s Restaurant in Richmond Heights. After retiring from the restaurant, Andy could be seen working as a Pit Boss at the Jack Casino for 10 years, until his illness. Andy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, travelling, and was always a great handyman to anyone who needed him. He enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond and Chicago, but truly received the most joy by being with his family and attending Mass at different churches throughout the community. Andy loved Christmas so much he even worked for Plantscapes part-time decorating for the holidays to help bring Christmas joy to others. Andy is described by his loved ones as being a fun guy, one who loved to talk and carry on conversations with many, and always the life of the party. He will be dearly missed by all the family and friends that were so very special to him.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church. Entombment following in Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Andy at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
