Andrew “Bert” Kino

Andrew “Bert” Kino, age 84, a resident of Wickliffe for 47 years and formerly of Cleveland, passed away Nov. 3, 2010, at Lake West Medical Center. He was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Puritan, Pennsylvania.A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, Bert loved his gambling trips, fishing, golf, gardening and his Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a feisty, fun-loving, independent person who had a heart of gold.Bert worked for many years at LTV Steel as a steelworker and retired in 1988.Survivors include his wife, Veronica (Bolas) for 60 years; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kino; 18 nieces and nephews; and 30 great-nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary (Yankulic) Kino; brothers, Charles, Steve and Michael; and sister, Ann Babalon.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at St. Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills. The Rev. George Smiga will officiate. Burial will be private.
Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.on Friday at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91). Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
