Andrea Poklar-Byrne

ANDREA A. POKLAR-BYRNE, age 60, died peacefully after her several years illness; beloved wife for 29 years of B. James Byrne, III "Jamie"; devoted mother of Camryn Byrne; loving daughter of the late Katherine (nee Lash) and Norman Poklar; cherished sister of Norman Poklar (Janeen) and Terrance Poklar; dearest sister-in-law of Mary Kay Gleba (Larry, deceased), Timothy (deceased) (Donna), Maureen Vrban (Mike), Margaret Ann Byrne, and Paul Byrne; dear aunt, great-aunt, and friend of many. Special friend to Kathy Ruff.

Andrea was born on July 21, 1964, and passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, with her husband at her side. She was raised in Wickliffe and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1982, and the University of Akron. Andrea excelled in the insurance industry in sales and most recently was a client manager at Cigna International. She was a resident of Willoughby Hills for 24 years and member of Divine Word Catholic Church for 20 dedicated years. She was enthusiastic about helping with the Philip Neri Food Mission and participated in many parish activities. Andrea lovingly served as the current President of the Deepwood Foundation and a Board Member of the Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities. These roles allowed her to thrive doing what she loved most which was helping others, being an advocate and always putting others before herself. Andrea is perfectly described by her daughter as loving, caring and kind. She was vibrant and Fun - with a capital F! She enjoyed a wide variety of music and in her spare time she liked to golf, play tennis and garden. Thanksgiving and Christmases in Florida were always special to her but what gave her the greatest joy in life was her daughter. All who had the pleasure of knowing Andrea will feel the loss of her presence immensely. She will truly be missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd, Kirtland. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment Private at a later date. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Andrea at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 4-8 PM.
