Alice Angela Mohar

ALICE A. MOHAR (nee Kuret), age 96, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024, at the David Simpson Hospice House after a brief illness.  She was the beloved wife for 63 years of the late Cyril; loving mother of Margaret (Raymond, deceased) Metti and Robert (LuAnn); devoted grandmother of Allison (Aengus) Barry and Christine (Joshua) Blanton; and great-grandmother of Katherine, Adrian, twins James and Aidan, David, and Claire.

 Daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (nee Urbancic) Kuret, Alice was born on April 23, 1927, in Cleveland. She graduated from Collinwood High School in 1945 and began working as a bookkeeper at Society for Savings Bank downtown   and later returned to work at the Lake County National Bank.  Growing up an only child, she was blessed when she married Cyril, and her family grew. Becoming a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother gave her the most fulfillment in life. Still, Alice had an active life, bowling and playing bocce on various teams through the years.  She also had a creative side, crocheting many colorful blankets for family and making beautiful ceramic gifts.  In their retirement, Alice and Cy travelled and cruised in Europe and the Caribbean and enjoyed part of many winters in Florida.  Closer to home, they loved Saturday night dinners with dear friends and dancing polkas and waltzes.

 In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully suggests donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland. OH 44110 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. 

Family and friends are requested to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, February 5, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 37932 Euclid Ave, Willoughby, OH 44094, at 10 AM. 

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. 

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Alice at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY from 3-6 PM.
