ALICE J. (nee Yeater) SHAUGHNESSY

Tribute Service for Alice J. Shaughnessy, 84, will be on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:00 AM at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square). Mrs. Shaughnessy died on Sunday Jan. 6th, 2013. She was a resident of Thompson for over 70 years.

Alice worked for many years at Chardon Rubber and previously several restaurants on Chardon square. She enjoyed needlework, sewing, feeding the birds, her outings to Wal-Mart and most especially visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Jane, David, Dixie (Bob) Carnahan of TX, and Pamela of AZ; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Denver, Aubrey “Butch” and James Yeater; sisters Mae Yeager, Nellie Egleston, Betty Rigby and Patty Capela; she was the dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Mrs. Shaughnessy was preceded in death by her parents Goldie (nee Gains) and Benjamin Yeater; husband of 61 years James; son Johnnie; grandson Joel Jacobson; sister Dorothy Piercey and brother Jesse Yeater.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Alice at the Funeral Home Thursday 5-8 PM. Burial will follow the service in Maple Grove Cemetery.
