ALFRED E. KERR age 85; beloved husband for 47 years of the late Mary (nee Dunlap); loving father of Margaret “Margie” Kinkelaar (husband Thomas) and Charles “Chuck”; devoted grandfather of twins Emma Jane and Erin Margaret and Sara; treasured brother of Connie Pringle; dearest cousin “brother-in-law” of Mary Margaret Manwell; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

 Alfred was born on February 29, 1932 in Ashland, Ohio and passed away on July 23, 2017. He was a resident of Highland Heights for 52 years and a member of Highland Sixth Presbyterian Church/Amazing Grace EPC. Al was an Indian Guides Big Chief, Little League and softball coach, on the Planning and Zoning Appeals  Committee for Highland Heights, and an Election Board employee for Cuyahoga County. He graduated from High School in Ashland and attended Bowling Green University. Al was a personnel manager and safety director for Valley Mould & Ingot Company. He loved attending Browns and Indians games, listening to Big Band music, shopping and antiquing. Alfred enjoyed bus trips to Amish Country and spending time with his family. Holidays were a special time for Al, especially Christmas when he spent time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered most as a lovable jokester who was always smiling. Alfred was playful, with a deep love and commitment to his wife Mary, children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. 

Contributions may be made in memory of Al to Great Lakes Caring Hospice 5966 Heisley Rd #100, Mentor, OH 44060 or Amazing Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church 5632 Wilson Mills Rd. Highland Heights, 44143. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Funeral Service Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Amazing Grace EPC at 11 AM. Burial following in Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Al at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
