ALFRED S. DELANIS, aged 81 years, beloved husband for 56 years to Judy (nee Herman), dear father of Mark (wife Dianne – nee Fruscella), loving grandfather of Joe and Chris, devoted brother of the late John DeLanis and Joseph Delanis, cherished uncle and great-uncle.
Born on June 12, 1933, Mr. Delanis was a 41 year resident of Lyndhurst, previously residing in Cleveland and East Cleveland. He was retired from Morrison Products on Waterloo Rd. in Cleveland, where he worked as plant supervisor. He was a Mason, and a member of Al Koran Shrine and Acacia Lodge # 651 F.&A.M. He volunteered for East Cleveland Theatre as a set-builder for their productions.
Mr. Delanis was an avid boater, and member of the Northeast Yacht Club. He belonged to the Coast Guard auxiliary, and taught safe boating classes. He was a former boy scout, belonging to the first integrated Boy Scout club at Calvary Lutheran Church in East Cleveland. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cleveland Heights. A devoted family man, he was especially fond of and supportive of his two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Rev. Pastor Jessica Shields, Officiating. Burial following in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Al at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) on SUNDAY from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
