ALEXANDER B. MacDONALD, JR., age 63, beloved husband for 41 years of Janice (nee Effland); loving father of Kara Hamilton (husband Todd), Melissa Seitz (husband Matt) and Emma MacDonald; devoted grandfather of Chase and Peyton Hamilton and Riley and Crosby Seitz; cherished son of the late Alexander and Alma (nee Gentile); dearest brother of Sue Knight (husband John) and Kelly MacDonald (Kenny Tomaselli); dear uncle & great uncle of many.

Alex was born June 28, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away on November 30, 2016.  Alex was a resident of Mayfield Heights for the past 35 years, previously residing in Richmond Heights.  He graduated from Richmond Heights High School in 1971 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University.  Alex was a manager at Phillips Medical Equipment Manufacturing, a visitor service representative at the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame and was a musician, playing bass guitar.  He loved music and art, building several custom guitars, painting and sculpting.  Alex also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.  He will be remembered as an intelligent, well-informed man who could talk about anything.  Alex was straight-forward, logical, passionate, structured and organized.  He was a hands-on father with a great sense of humor and an amazing quick wit. Alex will be greatly missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.  Celebration of Life Service in memory of Alex Monday, December 5, 2016 at 7:30 PM at the Funeral Home. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Alex at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 4-7:30 PM.
