ALAN PHILLIPS age 72, beloved husband for 49 years of Carita (nee Farinacci); loving father of  Nicholas (wife Amber), Carita Ann Livingston-Polo (husband Joseph Polo), and Michelle Patty (husband Joshua); devoted grandfather of Nicholas (wife Mikaela) and Lexi Phillips, Ryan Livingston, Molly, Tommy, and Brady Patty and great-grandfather of Carter Lanzo and Ezra Phillips; dearest brother of Wayne (wife Mitsuyo), Connie Mayo (husband Don), and Gary; dear brother-in-law, uncle, and great-uncle of many. U.S. Air Force Vietnam Conflict Veteran.

Alan was born in Bedford, Ohio on January 11, 1949 and passed away peacefully on August 2, 2021.  He was a resident of Mayfield Heights for over 60 years and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1967.  Al married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Carita, and together they shared a life full of faith and love.  He was an Electrician and retired after 20-plus years from TRW.  Al was a member of Christian Assembly Church for many years.  His hobbies included playing golf, bowling, softball, and working in the yard….and he loved grilling.  Al listened to the music of the 1950’s and 60’s.  His most enjoyment in life came from being with his family, especially the grandkids, and he enjoyed watching all sports.  His most favorite tradition was spending 4th of July at home with family.  He is described as a jokester as he was silly, funny, and quick witted especially with his “Al-isms”.  He was also known to be stubborn at times.  Al belonged to the American Legion and was proud of his service during the Vietnam Conflict.  He will be missed dearly by many.

Celebration of Life Service TUESDAY, August 10, 2021 at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following with Military Honors at Whitehaven Memorial Park. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Al at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY August 9 from 3-5 and 6-8 PM.
