Carol S. Porter

CAROL S. PORTER age 70, cherished daughter of the late Albert S. “Bert” and Genevieve (nee Shaveyco) Porter; dearest sister of Alan and wife Wendy (Erlanger); loving aunt of Ethan; dear niece, cousin and friend of many.

Carol was born in Cleveland on March 24, 1953. She graduated from Orange High School where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She received her undergraduate degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from Sweet Briar College, spending her junior year in France. Carol earned a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She began her career at Park View Federal Savings & Loan where she served in numerous positions over the years, rising to Secretary and Director of Marketing.

In retirement, Carol enjoyed yoga classes, attending theatre at Playhouse Square, following Cleveland sports and the companionship of her beloved Cairn Terrier. She dearly enjoyed vacationing with family on Long Boat Key, Florida, and spending time with her nephew, family friends and their children and grandchildren. All who knew her described Carol as a loving and deeply caring person who was devoted to her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Carol to the Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113 and Hospice of Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101 Cleveland, OH 44192. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Wade Memorial Chapel at Lake View Cemetery on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 11 am.
