BETTE J. HORWATT (nee Cole) age 88, beloved wife for 65 years of Thomas; loving mother of Cindy Morrison (husband Michael), Kris Rispoli (husband Anthony), and Katye Muha (husband Frank); devoted grandmother of Heather Shuster (husband Jon), Halle Dalrymple (husband Sean), Patrick Morrison (wife Sandra), Corbin Rispoli, Paige Parimuha (husband Nicholas), Makayla and Mitchell Muha, and great-grandmother of Grady, Gracyn, Greer, twins Isabella and Madalyn, Tenley, Titus, Taelyn, and Aida; cherished daughter of the late Sylvester and Marybelle (nee Huggins) Cole; dearest sister of the late Sonny Cole (wife Eva); dear sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt of many.

Bette was born in Wexford, PA on September 22, 1932 and passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021.  She was a resident of Willoughby Hills for the past 65 years. Bette graduated from Holy Ghost Academy in Pittsburgh and proudly worked as a homemaker. As co-founders, her and her husband dedicated 65 years to the Willoughby Hills Boys League running the concession stand, as well as many years as Commissioner of the Willoughby Hills Recreation and was passionate about serving her community. She also spent time driving school bus in her later years. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, and was a sports fan. Bette was a beautiful, friendly, loving, compassionate soul, that could also be a tad feisty.  She was also witty, giving, and generous of her time.  Bette was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by many.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday June 10, 2021 at 1 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bette at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 10 AM – 1 PM.
