SARA B. (CARESANI) POWELL (nee Edwards) age 78, beloved wife of Harold Powell and the late Louis Caresani; loving mother of Carolyn Porvasnik (husband David), Louis Caresani (wife Ann), and James Caresani; devoted grandmother of Kara, Kaelyn, and Kristen Porvasnik, Benjamin, Adam and Kyle Caresani; cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (nee Helgert) Edwards; dearest sister of Darlene Wetzell, Linda Bergbigler, Monica Claypool, and the late James Edwards, Phyllis Mechling, and Glenda Yurga; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Sara to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to OutRun Ovarian Cancer (OROC), P.O. Box 40332, Bay Village, OH 44140.

Sara was born on October 4, 1940 in Kittanning Pennsylvania and passed away on August 19, 2019. She was a resident of Euclid for 50 years previously residing in Pennsylvania. Sara attended high school in Pennsylvania and proudly worked as an Inspector for Gould. She loved spending time with her grandkids, knitting, gardening, and making floral arrangements. Sara enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Kentucky, Florida, Las Vegas and San Francisco. She was private, reserved, generous, selfless, strong willed, determined and very devoted to her family. Sara will be dearly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 12 NOON at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd, Mentor, OH 44060. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Sara at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY MORNING 10-11 AM.
