GORDON J. RICHARDSON age 93, beloved husband for 73 years of Emily (nee Plemel); loving father of Geri Cobb (husband Jim, deceased); devoted grandfather of Brian, Christopher (Trudi), Gordon and Samantha (Jon) and great-grandfather of James and Emily; cherished son of the late Clemon Roe and Sivreen Richardson; dearest brother of Harold (Beth) and the late Ernest, Clemon, Marthalee, Myrtle and Edward; dear uncle, great and great–great uncle of many.

Gordon was born in Mobile Alabama to Clemon Roe and Sibreen Richardson. One of 6 children he remembered fondly growing up the farm, although hard work, it nurtured his love for gardening, roses and the great outdoors. Gordon served in WWII, earning the title of Corporal. During his time serving our country he was honored with a Victory Medal, Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and an Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. He met and fell in love with his bride Emily and they were married for over of 73 years. His pride and the joy of his life, was his adoring daughter Geraldine who gave them 4 outstanding and cherished grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Gordon loved music and particularly Swing music. His grandchildren say he was a kind, patient, gentle man, fun loving and so quick to smile and joke around. Gordon will be missed by so many.
